Some people are interested buying some centrifuged oil off me. I have a small filling station that I will be putting up soon so it can be pumped easy. I want to do this on a very small scale and only supply oil for a few people.

What should I charge??? It costs about $1.00 a liter here in Edmonton, AB.

Thanks

It's illegal to sell motor fuel for use on public roads in most jurisdictions.
You can of course sell home heating fuel without such tax problems.

It's NOT illegal to sell motor fuel. Think about it. It's a tax and permits issue, it's not inherrantly wrong.

No victim, no crime. They just want their cut, that's all. (don't give them a dime though)

Not sure about Canada... but as I understand it for Biodiesel in the USA, you pay approx 50 cents/gallon taxes depending on the locality.

And you get 50 cents to $1.00 per gallon tax credit on the BD sales.

Unfortunately they haven't figured out what to do with VO/SVO/WVO.

It would just make things so much easier if they eliminated the taxes & allowed the BD and VO/WVO/SVO to be sold tax-free, perhaps as an alternative to paying taxes and then requesting credit.

Hi Keelec.

Regarding the biofuels tax scene:

They probably spend $0.75 just for administering the tax shuffle...
