This topic may have been covered in previous post. If so, a link would be very useful.

I have plans to build (or modify) an outdoor boiler on the lines of the large woodfired Heatmor, Shaver, Outdoorboiler... but use wvo or wo as fuel.
The babington style burner looks as though would be suited for this application provided its ignition could be T-stat controlled and reliable.
My idea is to have an electric pre-heater for the fuel just prior to the bab with the temp set to around 160f. The supply of fuel will pass thru a heat exchanger (automotive transmission cooler) within the boiler water
which will be (hopefully) maintained at 170-180f.
I will use a Taco pump to pump the hot water to a heat exchanger located in my indoor air handler. Normal HVAC t-stat will controll the fan.
At this point I wonder how many gallons of water will I need to keep the burner from "short cycling"?
Also, extracting enough heat to heat 250 gal or so of water may require a fan to force a draft to make the burner happy.

Just a bunch of scribbling and head scratchin' at this point.

Any ideas, input???
