My home was recently remodeled, and we installed a Fireplace Xtrordinar fireplace, which burns wood, sucks out the smoke, and puts the heat into the house. But finding and burning wood is a huge hassle. Now here's my question. I've experimented with burning vegetable oil, and it seems to burn cleanly and successfully. Would I be able to say, take 2 inch deep baking pan and burn vegetable oil in the chamber of the fireplace successfully? I think I would. Does Vegetable Oil burn cleaner than wood? At what temperature do both wood and vegetable oil burn?
The website of my fireplace is here: http://www.fireplacex.com/product_guide/wood_inserts.aspx |

Not that simple - it will burn but it will produce HUGE amounts of smoke and soot, needs to be a bit more sophisticated than that.
Read through the posts in THIS forum to get a better idea of how others are burning vegoil and biodiesel for heat. |
