Hi gang.

It's been a while.

I subscribe to a mining E-newspaper & it had a link to the following story:

Currently, China has a virtual total monopoly on rare earth for light-weight permanet magnets.

If a Colorado corporation can optimise their extraction, refinement & reprocessing operations, they will pull their currently mothballed pit mine out of dormancy & back into full production.

This will likely drop the costs of rare earth magnets somewhat & should help the local cali economy some too. (employment etc)

Hopefully the will pull it off well...

I think one of the reasons the Chinese now dominate the rare earth market is environmental laws in the west.

So you can expect some opposition to the mine unless they have a cleaner methodology.
