Hi everyone,

my name is Srdjan Gavrilovic, I'm a molecular biologist working on a technology for conversion of biomass into biogasoline/biopetrol. Technology that I'm developing utilizes common bacteria Escherichia coli to convert sugars into n-pentane C5H12. In my opinion potential bio-fuel. For more informations about reasons behind focusing on n-pentane and technology status, please, consult this link/file

This technology is in an early stage (confirmed proof of concept) and I'm interested in pushing it forward but I can't do it all on my own Frown
Do you know anyone who might be interested in something like this?

I'm also looking for professional in fields of engine design and petrol engineering who might provide me with a feedback/opinion on prospects of n-pentane as an engine fuel. I would appreciate your input A LOT!!!

If you are interested in getting more information, please, don't hesitate to ask.

And for fun Smile

Kindest regards, Srdjan

Hi Srdjan!

I'm interested from technological point of view.
Did you calculate how much n-pentane is produced from 1g or 1kg sugars?
What kind of sugars can be metabolized by Escherichia coli in this process?

Thank you in advance!
Daniel
