I'm located in Cape Breton, NS. I'm also just getting started. I've found a few sources of bulk methanol with offices in the Burnside Industrial Park, Dartmouth, NS. They range in price from $1.60/kg to $2.80/kg, FOB Dartmouth. Most have minimum orders or 4x200L drums.

Hey Donnnie, thanks for the reply first off. I have seen FOB a number of times now and I'm not sure what it represents? What is the total cost per barrel if I were to pick it up? I may be willing to get 4 barrels. Jeff.

FOB is "Freight On Board", meaning the listed price is at whatever warehouse before shipping.
The best price I a got for the east coast was out of Montreal. Price was $1.60 / kg for 210L drums, delivered to Sydney, NS. Price gets better for larger quanities.
There are a few hoops to jump including the 4 barrel minimum, a credit application, Haz. Mat. Certification, dock height loading, and barrel/pallet deposit.
There are a few sources with less hassel, but a lot more money per KG. Most located in Burnside Industrial Park, Dartmouth, NS.

The 210L drum holds about 163kg.

I am over here on PEI and can get 45 Gal drum of Methonal at Kent Building Supply, not sure of price as I was picking it up for some one only, as goes for Lye (Casutic Soda) just find a local Chemical company, although they are likely whole sale companies however you may be able to swing something with them we have Island Chemicals over here and they do have 50KG bags of Lye (Casutic Soda for about $100
