I have tried twice with the on-line Dr Pepper method. Im getting consistent results, but they are not good results.
I have a picture at the following URL: http://ftp.cableone.net/usao/051407_16581.JPG Im adding 250ml of yellow HEET with 4g of NaOH to 1L of 50C new oil. The first batch I made produced about 150ml of glycerin, but all attempts at washing produced white glop settling to the bottom. I kept washing over and over, and I gave-up after I only had 100ml of BD left from the 1L batch. I tried adding it to the car, but it caused the car to run very rough for about a day. I tried a second batch, and the same thing is happening again. I again only got 150ml glycerin out (see picture). Im not sure what im doing wrong. Im following the directions 100% AFAIK. Someone suggested the yellow HEET is not the correct bottle, can anyone confirm yellow or red as the correct bottle? Also, after the 1-liter batch has setteled, can it be shaken up again? I was thinking of trying the 5% prewash while the glycerin was still in the bottle to see if that helps with the white soapy contents im getting during washing. Im wannabe who is aspiring to be a newbie |

Well, first of all, you didn't follow the Dr Pepper instructions exactly, you are using the Barqs method!
