I made my first batch with the DR. Pepper method. Seemed pretty sraight forward I used new canola oil which I didn't boil since it was new, methanol from a new bottle of yellow HEET and Roebic 100% lye. Its been 24 hours and it seperated but there is about a 1/2" layer of carmel color on top the rest is nice clear oil looks just like the original canola. Isn't the dark color supposed to be on the bottom?

I was going to make bioD out of canola oil but I am wondering whether this works or not....this is the only thing that came up on the search...
