I,m new at this and would like some advise.

I used the Dr. Pepper small batch test.

I used the(Reobic Professional Drain Cleaner Liquid for 3 small test batchs. I used 1 litre fresh soy oil, 250 then 220 of methanol and 4 then 5gm of lye. I then used the same as above but used Naoh dry lye 6gm. All tests yielded 3/4 full bottom of honey colored cloudy with 1/4 clear lighter honey on top. The glcerin never turned the dark color as the photos. I am a newbie and wonder how much glycerin is suppose to be in the test batch and how much bd should be in the test. All the pictures show a small quantity of dark glycerin in the bottom with a large quantity of bd on top. HELP I,m confused. Ken
