I have done a lot of research and have been going back an forth between just using a coolant wrapped filter or adding a FPHE after the filter.
I am planning on heating the tank, and running H-O-H through-out the system. I have a suburban- so I am very concerned with making sure the WVO is hot eough before it enters the IP, but I do not want to go overboard- more failure points IMO-
I live in Oregon- so winters are not super cold, and I am mostly planning on driving in the summer.
What are your thoughts? Should I go with both or save some $$ and just wrap my filter.
Last FPHE I purchased was $100 with fittings. That is about 20 gallons of diesel fuel. Due both you are not saving that much. Go to the local junkyard and purchase hose clamps for $.10 cents each instead of $.79 cents and you will have saved half of the money for the FPHE. Find BMW's and Mercedes they have good hose clamps.

General concensus seems to be that if you go HOH, it's a good idea to use a FPHE just in front of your IP as insurance against lukewarm WVO into your IP. As with any 2-tank conversion, a real good (complete) pre-switchover warm up is advisable too.
