There are pros and cons to both . Make sure that the truck is a keeper before you act on the WVO conversion . If you get the Powerstroke, use the DFA http://www.dinofuelalternatives.com/ WVO conversion kit.
Look here http://biodiesel.infopop.cc/ev...ms/a/frm/f/505106403 and also search these forums and google for the subject . Edit - For general information on Ford IDI vs Powerstrokes ( PSD) - See - http://www.intellidog.com/dieselmann/home.html and the forums at www.oilburners.net , www.dieselstop.com , www.ford-trucks.com , www.powerstroke.org. You may have to register to read the posts on on some those forums . This message has been edited. Last edited by: rkpatt, 1994 F250 IDI 7.3 NA E4OD |

Both are considered good wvo candidates.
The IDI is older, with cheaper parts. It's Stanadyne fuel injection pump is it's Achilles heal. The P.S. has expensive parts. I don't have experience with the Powerstroke but I second the DFA recommendation. 1-tank Elsbett VW TDI , 115,000 SVO miles. http://ctbiodzl.freeshell.org/votdi.html and a '92 F-250 with only a FPHE |
