Call for veggie.....not looking for a handout! Please help.

My wife and I are moving to Austin, Texas from Greenfield, Massachusetts on August 9th in our 1985 MBZ wagon. We are going to stay at the following locations, and it would be GREAT to be able to procure about 25 to 30 gallons of filtered veggie at each of the following (or anywhere on the interstate between the following):

York/New Freedom, PA (Harrisburg area)
Pittsburgh, PA
Indianapolis, IN
St. Louis, MO
Conway/Little Rock, AR
Longview/Tyler, TX
San Marcos, TX

We are glad to pay what you think is fair. Up until today I've been using the fillup4free website for contacts, but have received almost no response to about ten or more inquiries. I didn't want to have to ask for so much help from this site, but the other resources/sites I've used have been less than helpful.

I have always been glad to help travelers to W. Mass even if it just means pointing them in the right direction to local peeps I know who have veggie for them. I truly appreciate the help!

Any recommendations GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

JBG

I'm in Alexandria, LA, and would be happy to provide a fill-up. It's a little out of the way of your proposed route, but keep it in mind.

Jordan,

My wife's parents have a homestead in San Marcos, so until we find a place to live in Austin, that's where we'll be! Hope to score some veg in SM when we arrive.....Austin will be a challenge what with Diesel Green Fuels, but I'm up for it! We won't be using much veggie anyway; we're going to be biking/scootering as much of the time as possible. If I can score a mom+pop place that uses like 2 cubes a week I'll be more than set. Not a lot to ask for.....but I know it'll be tough.

Thanks all for the help. I'm in the process of responding to you all. This site has proven super helpful and I've only been on it 1 day. Especially compared to the GC forum.....yeah.

That makes sense. There's a guy named philip on fill up for free that might have some to spare in SM. I can't speak for him, though.

My experience with this site too! Though i have provided some oil for travelers. What is a fair price for nice oil in your opinions?

2$ a gallon, 75cents a litre is what I've experienced from good old boys on the road. That's what I charge for completely clean dry oil.

I've had great success since making this post, but still am looking for sources in Indianapolis, and the Little Rock, AR area. If anyone can help out in either place or knows someone I might contact, please let me know.

Thanks again!

There are 4 litres per gallon. 75 cents per litre= $3 per gallon, not $2.

Of course, my name is "daw" in all lowercase. Oh, and you have a 1985 300TD....oh, la la la. Is your SLS properly functioning? What color of interior do you have? Do you need anything for your "wagon"?

PM sent back to you; hope it is clear.

Stauby,

That's awesome! PM sent.

JBG

ps--daw, glad to know you are a stickler for the details, as am I; therefore you need not put quotation marks around the word wagon. It is a wagon, not a "wagon." SmileSmileSmileSmile

So, JBG, what color is your 300TD? Do you need anything for it?

Wagon is navy blue with ivory interior. Don't need anything for it at the moment. Of course that may change by the time we get to Memphis!!!
