Hello folks,
I am looking for a 'grease-guru'interested in coming up to Burlington, VT to do about a month's worth of work here in April or May. The work includes: -the conversion of a 1982 300D Mercedes sedan -improvements to a 1996 International 3800 T444E school bus conversion. -building of 1 or 2 collection/filtration systems -maybe more I have a good deal of experience working with the veg and will help...converted about 4 vehicles now. Others in the area with experience and some without that could help too. It is simply too much work to accomplish without one person singularly focused on it. I will not be able to singularly focus on it. We can offer modest compensation, living space and alot of your meals. If interested, we could--and would love to--pull together a public workshop. FYI: alot of the work will be used by a for-profit food business, the Skinny Pancake. Check us out online at www.skinnypancake.com. We are trying to push the envelope of sustainable practices in the food industry through intense use of local foods, biodegradable packaging, forks and knives, reclaimed lumber in our buildout, efficient lighting, composting, and of course...veggie oil. We used the bus to take us to festivals throughout the region last year and will again this coming summer. We're also looking at putting solar panels on it, but that's a whole other can of worms and not on my plate. So its a cool project to participate in...ALSO: we're opening a storefront this May, which is why I know I won't be able to accomplish all this work w/o dedicated and experienced help. Thanks... Peace, Benjy Adler 802-598-3028 www.skinnypancake.com |

Hi GeneralStark (nice name!!!),
you're not alone--I (and many others) have given away alot of what advice and experience I (we) have on the matter too...I know plenty about vegoil (especially thanks to this forum), just don't have the time this spring to execute on it all. As stated, part of the compensation was intended to be the offer of room & board for someone looking to check out Burlington for a while, which you obviously wouldn't need. So I don't know what you're looking for in terms of compensation, but why don't you give me a call off-line at 802-598-3028 or write me at benjyadler@gmail.com so we can talk about it off outside of the open forum. Anyone else interested is also welcome to contact me through the private chanels listed above. -Benjy |
