We're down in PA at my inlaws, the TD left it's mark as usual on the new asphalt. It's OK though, they're getting used to it, and the oil leak is very minor this year compared to years past (I did not bother with the cardboard on the parking spot, which I regret). The motor has to come out to fix the last leak once and for all, which will happen this winter.
Fortunately, I was able to pour veg from a full 15 Gal drum into my tank without spilling a drop - It took three people! I was able to bring all the VO in the rocket box (3 cubes and the 15 gal. drum), amazing how heavy you can overload those things!

Hope everyones thanksgiving SVO travels went well.

I'm old Wink so I no longer carry spare fuel in anything heaver than 5 gallons. Can you fit 6 cubies? I use 5 gallon Carboys which are like heavy duty cubies.

I just did a long trip to Phoenix, camping and off-roading along the way. Burned almost 70 gallons of WVO. Truck ran perfectly. I take one cubie and two 16 gallon drums. I pump from the drum to the main tank with a small "drill pump". It is a bit slow, but clean and easy.

Thankfully most of my relatives have gravel driveways.

So, at my mother's house, grandmother's house, and brother's house, I always park on the gravel.

The dang communities here in Misery want to outlaw gravel driveways.

Do you have the Thule Mountaineer by chance? That's about 180 lbs up there. Did it affect the handling? Did it feel like it wants to tip over in hard cornering? Smile

Diatomaceous earth (oil absorbent granuals) sold in auto parts stores is what I use to sop up VO stains. On concrete just cover the stain and with your shoe, grind it to a powder on the stain. Then sweep up and repeat. A final scrubbing with Simple Green followed by a water rinse will leave it good as new.

Was the Rocket box on the Samurai?
I'm wanting to do one of the conversions, but have been concerned about the decreased space (from my Trooper) and having to overload the roof box and have such a high center of gravity.
I don't do much real 4x4, just dirt and snow fire roads.

Hi Ron
Me too....no more pouring, too heavy. I transfer all my oil from gas can to my tank via a small 12v bilge pump. Fast clean save your back...
