We are changing the vinyal lines over to Fuel lines and we bought a sight glass and are now installing that. We did happen to start the car and rev it a few times before we started replacing the lines, and it sound GREAT!!, but we havn't droven it yet, this car needs to be done it two weeks so we will let you know how the first road test goes.

I talked to my teacher about the diesel tank placment, and we are indeed probably going to add a fire resistant material over the tank when we redo the interior of the trunk area, I will let you guys know what we do with it.

I think I saw that car behind a AAA truck on the side of the road...nah, just kidding! Your class is doing great. This is all about learning, and having the choice to do it your own way to see if it is better or you learn from it. I think it is great that you've made good progress.

I like the idea of using the vinyl lines to prototype the fuel lines for correct routing, length... I'm sure it was cheaper than spending big money on vo compatible Gen II or xxR9 fuel line, which got little and medium size pieces cut out and thrown onto the floor. Keep up the good work.

Omar loves pics, but no more so than the rest of us. He is just the most vocal.

The flammability of diesel and Veg Oil (ignites well over 400 deg.F) is much lower than gas (ignites with a spark at 70 deg. F), so the liklihood of fire is much lower than with gas. Nonetheless, if there should be an accident, nobody needs hot oil flying around, so compartmentalizing all hot oil would be wise. OR... Maybe a bypass for the in-tank heat exchanger would allow you to tune/bypass the coolant around the in-tank heat exchanger to tune heating for the seasonal temperatures). Keep em pics coming.
