Chris When I filter a cubie I poar slowly off of the top till the junk starts to flow.Dont let it glug go slow. I poar that off in a barrel and let that sit to get the last good oil out of it. I then pump that off with a gas 2" pump. Matt

At the top left is the centrifuge. It drains into an inverted spring water bottle with a spigot at the bottom and an upturned PVC elbow at the 2/3 mark. The clean oil cascades into the elbow just below the surface, once the level rises high enough. It is returned to the 2" bung in the drum top using a stock radiator hose, chosen for the right shape of bends. This water bottle part acts as a water drain during filtration and when shutting down. As the centrifuge stops spinning, I drain some out the bottom so that it is below the level of the PVC elbow to prevent water-contaminated oil / dregs from draining back into the 55. iandiam wvo set up read more here http://www.greasecar.com/forum_topicview.cfm?frmtopicID=18787have a good one Omar

http://www.freewebs.com/peteolson/filteringwvo.htmThe oil is tested for water content by taking a 400 milliliter sample, weighing the sample on a scale capable on an accuracy of 1/10 of a gram and recording the weight. Next the sample is heated in a 1600 watt microwave for 6 minutes and then weighed again. The difference in weight is the weight of the water that has boiled out. A 400 ml sample will have a weight of +- 400.0112 grams. If there is 0.2 grams removed from the sample that will equate to 0.199994 ml of water, or 0.08 percent of water by volume good read Omar www.omarsales.com

quote: upflow system for settling my WVO to reduce the amount of filtering I do, and this is the basic design I've come up with so far which I would like some input on:
I wouldn't have the final filter off the bottom of the tank as it would clog quickly, especially in cool temperatures.
