I've wondered about these. These are the same guys who offer "Accusorb" beads. I've never heard the beads being anything more than snakeoil. It causes me to doubt the rest of the stuff they offer.

I'd love to hear from someone who has bought other stuff from http://www.hydrogenappliances.com.

These 12 volt DC water heater elements are available from most of the places selling off-the-grid parts and appliences or solar panels, they are not a high-volume item so I suspect they are all made at the same factory. The price runs from about $30.00 all the way up to over $100.00 for the exact same element depending on where you look. I intend to try one of these for heat in my on-road flash evaporator once I get it a bit more finished. No reason they shouldn't work but I suspect the life expectancy is a lot less than the standard higher voltage AC unit. It takes 50 amps at 12 volts to produce 600 watts, at that high a current it only takes a minute amount of resistance to cause a hot spot in either the connection or the actual nichrome heating wire, a hot spot will speed the time to failure.

92 dodge cummins with over 260,000 miles. Running an unheated 50% diesel/50% WVO blend for about the last 75,000 miles when temps above 50 deg f, no modifications or heating except the addition of a throw-away in-line fuel filter (removed during cold weather).
As of 8-01-05 I have been testing a 75% WVO/15% gasahol (90% RUG/10% ethanol)/10% diesel blend. Works fine down to about 65 f then starts rough. Runs ok once engine warms up. Back to a 50/50 diesel blend sence 9-15-05, just to cool now. -- 11-01-05 Modified stock fuel tank internal fuel pickup to have I.D. of 3/8 inch, this eliminated cold start slow idle and bogg on acceleration. Now adding 1 ounce each of acetone and pure gum spirits of turpentine to each 5 gallons of any blend, seems to help keep the fats in solution to a lower temperature --Heated 2nd tank in the works
