Here's the turbo install plumbed to the FPHE, the banjo fitting was cut down to about 2", just enough to get a hose on it so that water should be good and HOT coming out. The brass barb visible is the fuel line which will be braided stainless over the block and to the IP so it shouldn't lose any heat that way.

Here's an interesting update on the turbo install piced above. The FPHE sitting on top of the turbo and exhaust manifold gets so hot just sitting there that the coolant at 190F or so is actually cooling it down. I have always had the theory that you could just place a heater such as this on top of the turbo or exhaust manifold and get plenty of heat and this bears it out. Without the coolant the FPHE would probably go well over 200F in heating the oil. So in my case with HIH and heated filter etc. it seems prudent to have the oil go through the FPHE at 190 or so which should yield at least 165 by the time it hits the IP. This also eliminates the need for insulation, believe me even with coolant that thing doesn't cool down.

Does anyone know if 2nd Gen 7.3l Powerstrokes have a 1/2" coolant ports on the driver's side head in the same spot as the heater core output? I'd like to plumb my FPHE separately from my HiH, filter and in tank heated pickup.

Over 18,000 miles on WVO.
A few starts and stops, but no major catastrophes.
