Is my thinking right that on the 300D, I can plug the banjo bolt hole and not have any return diesel coming out of the open filter area or fuel feed line openings on the stock housing?

I think that is correct if I understand you..
Let me repeat what I think I am hearing from you:

If you plug the banjo bolt, no returning fuel will enter the stock filter. All the returning fuel will go to the tank. (or to a valve in my case)

That is what I am thinking. I ask this question on another forum and had one reply that some fuel may seep past the threads of the bolt. That sounds very posible to me, so I will leave on a stock filter and plug the feed line holes with something.

Down under truck
Here are some photos of the SVO conversion recently installed by Fitian (MB300D81) in my ’97 Mitsubishi Triton ute. Once again Fitian has done a very nice job despite severe space constraints, there is certainly a lot less vacant real estate under the bonnet of a Triton compared to a MB300D.

It is a two-tank conversion, with veg oil going in the main tank and bio in a small start-up tank I made to fit against the front bulkhead of the ute back.

There is one 30 plate heat exchanger before the CAV filter and 6 port valve, and a second 20 plate heat exchanger before the injector pump.

Hi Omar.

Thanks for including the link to cleangrease.

Although many svo kit & component vendors offer advice and a few wvo collection parts, I agree with cleangrease that there should be more products and info available for wvo recovery.

I know that some will disagree with what I just said, but consider the testy little interactions that come by every time someone starts selling wvo refineries with no dewatering mech or no support basket for bag filters which strech with hot oil.

Sure there is a library of old posts here on how to refine wvo, but not every svo user/enthusiast knows about our forum yet.

Sorry to go OT, but the link needed a little mention, I thought.

Few words about thread sealant
http://www.greasecar.com/forum_topicview.cfm?frmtopicID=14091

Permatex 14a. It has teflon in it and works great. One down side is that you need to let it set good....3 to 4 days, before use under preasure. Hotwheelbill

here is a video clip of permatex 14A install
good luck Omar
www.omarsales.com

We use and recommend Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant, with Permatex High Performance Thread Sealant as a close second. Both have Teflon, neither require any curing time. NAPA usually has both, and both are available online.

You gotta go with Permatex 26B---Hi Temp RTV Silicone. Bullet proof stuff.

the system was putting out some serious heat. this particular 300SD now has a veg therm and a FPHE! probably one of the only vehicles really ready for a harsh Chicago winter.
