I've ordered the plans and have camped out at the mail box waiting for them (LOL). I would like to know if you have had the opportunity to have the oil checked for other impurities like acids and residual chemicals that might attack bearings etc. I have checked as many of the discussions regarding the spinner and if this was mentioned, my apologies but I couldn't find anything relevant. Would adding several gallons of water to a 45gal. drum of oil then pump mixing it dilute and suspend the impurities in the water help? The idea then is to use the centrifuge to remove the water and impurities together. Looking fwd to your comments.

I have had some testing done on the oil after being run through the centrifuge only once and I asked that they test for acid plus other contaminants.

I sent in the amount of oil that they requested and got back an analysis of the stuff that was detected and also the stuff that wasn't there. On the analysis sheet that I received it states, there wasn't sufficient sample to do the acid test I requested.

In the AM I'm going to call the lab and see what they need to do the test for acids and the volumn of acids. As soon as I can get a sample to them, I'll have another test done.

The test that has already been completed will be published on the forum as soon as I can figure out how to do it.

So far that's what I've learned, here in the West.
