I like the Fill-rite 1604. See: Recommend a pump for moving oil

I have the FR 1604 and the FR 1612 10gpm.
The 1604 shakes like a mofo and is very slow, but can handle thick oil, and is quiet comparatively.
The 1612 pumps at a good speed, is somewhat noisy and less expensive. Tuthill tech. says that this pump is not made for veggie oil, but the description says it can handle light oils. Lots of folks use this pump for wvo, but I'm not certain of it's longevity.

I've been using the Fill-Rite 1604 for about 2+ years to push pre-filtered oil through a 10 micron Goldenrod, and it's still going strong. It's not terribly fast, but it certainly is robust.

I use a http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=9576

but only on clean oil from carboy to tank, not for filtering.

After burning out my new Northern Tuthill/Fill-rite 1612 after 15 minutes I took the time to call there rep. It definetly is not designed to pump wvo. I have since been settling for the little Flotec at 70 bucks until I can hook up a gear pump. I melted the 30amp fuse that is in line. I passed on the 1604 as it did not pump as fast. Oh well.

Yeah, my fuse just melted on my Fill/Rite 1604. I'll be sending it back...
The fuse is also starting to melt on the Fill Rite 1612. WTF??

Perhaps I can splice in some heavier gauge wires to handle the extra stress of WVO. The 1612 was made for oil though...

I would suggest using a modified SBC 350 oil pump coupled to a powerful 12volt motor
