I understand spinning at high speeds, centrifugal force, etc., but I'm stuck on how the centrifuge actually captures the junk. ???

Seeing Wenchris's excellent thread about making his own centrifuge leaves me wondering where the junk get's trapped? From other things I've seen it looks like the junk just adheres to the inside of the centrifuge - is this right? And if so, then how do you know that you don't have "overflow" of junk moving with the oil into your clean tank?

I would love to copy Wenchris's model with an old router that I have sitting around, but I've got to get my mind around it first...

Thanks!

Dan

no real way of knowing if you are apssing junk, other than getting used to knowing how long it takes to fill, and cleaning it before you get to that point, trial and error
hence the contineous cycling of a oil spun(dieselcraft or such) and doing several passes works well, and always have a polishing or finishing filter as youre backup on the way to the tank of youre vehicle

www.simplecentrifuge.com had a video of their centrifuge in action.
In my Acme I can see the output clarity in my clear 1/2" hose, but for water I have to do a HPT after adding each new heated 3 gal batch to my 5 gal supply cooler.
I also use a 10 mic polishing filter.
