I just converted my 6.0 last week. See sig for all I put in. So far with just under 400 miles all is fine. It not too bad to convert. I also rana tank of mix 60/40 Diesel/WVO. It ran fine and started fine on it.

NiNjA,
I too was a newbie and by most standards still am. I did my research on this site and many others. I learned all I could and then made some decisions that meet my temperament for this project. Since this truck engine is so new and I'm no diesel mechanic, I choose a kit from Plant Drive for my truck. You can check their site for pricing. I made the assumption that I'd be able to get lots of help with all the things I didn't know. This worked for me. I was able to email both Craig and Shane and ask all the questions I wanted. Some dare I say were even stupid questions. The other parts in my sig are from Summit Racing, and McMaster-Carr. My suggestion to you is do lots of reading before you make any decision to convert. Then secure a source of WVO. Lastly then decide if you want to buy all the pieces you'll need to do a conversion from 3 or 4 different sources or from a kit supplier. Where are you located? Other sources for info on the 6.0 PSD The Dieselstop Erick |

Yea, im still stuck in whether bio or svo, it seems to me the svo is alot safer, then making the bio and less time consuming. Im located in Kingman Az, just moved out here from Vegas to get away for a while. I also have been to the greasel.com site it seemed very informative as well as kits go. I appreciate your reply and if you can add more that would be great. I have heard the 6.0 problem child stories for 2 years now so i wanted to know who out there with a 6.0 has done it. thanx..

As far as I know there are very few 6.0 PSD trucks running on WVO. I suspect that will be changing as warranties start to run out and people get more results from early adopters like me. I have 4300 miles on my truck as of today. Plant Drive as I've been told has done the most 6.0's. But that could have been sales man speak I never confirmed it.
You will need to cut into the existing steel fuel lines to add the WVO. Once you do that it's a great place to add the Vegtherm. You will need to mount everything under the truck. There is no room in the engine compartment for anything except maybe a relay for the electronics. You will need to run some long runs of coolant back to the new WVO tank or Vormax heated filter. In AZ you may not need a heated tank. I don't know what you low temps are though. You could probably get away with just a heated filter and the Vegtherm. Email me privately if you'd like more info since it looks like it's just you and I keeping this thread going. erickpanger at erickpanger dot com Erick |

Sounds great. So do you still use #2 diesel to run through your engine from your oem tank? or are you just using svo/wvo? As far as low temps go, it sometimes dips into the 30's at night in the winter time. day time temps in winter are about 55+. Summer time definately wont be an issue

Also make sure you have enough room to process and store.
