I'm going to toss this out there as nothing makes you want more soup than the soup nazi, or in this case VO than the Veg nazis at my local TD machine shop.

Here's an equivalent Bosch injector nozzle part #:
943261006

I'm in contact with Monark and Elsbett to see if they have it. If any dealers can match a better nozzle with it for VO than the OEM Denso it'd be much appreciated, but it's a long shot, they're very old now.

Whats engine is the nozzle for? Your dodge?

It's a Mitsubishi engine? DO you know the engine code? Is this a rebadged Mitsubishi vehicle?

The engine is the 2.3 L 4D55T L4 Turbo Diesel and the only difference is that it's an 86 block in an 83 truck but the injection system is all the same. It's from the line of D50's that were sold in the States under the Dodge brand but made by Mitsu, the TD models were only made in 83 and 86. It's ironically very much the opposite of what you know in the UK as the D50 and I actually belong to that forum as well.

My current hope is that Mitsu used the same size nozzles in a later vehicle and possibly renumbered them. Elsbett sells kits for quite a few Mitsubishi cars, some with 2.0 L engines and those would figure to be similar in size. Here's the Elsbett kit list.

Mitsu is rather infamous for using the same parts under different names and given that the D50 TD was one of their best engines it wouldn't surprise me if they do have the same injection system in other vehicles. Then my hope would be that the Bosch = nozzle would come up as a match for those injectors as well. Or perhaps Elsbett will recognize the later vehicle.

I gave you already yesterday the Mitsubishi and Bosch numbers

Bosch: 943261006 = MD050590 Mitsubishi

http://ecat-online.bosch.de/toc/en/0000a5HkWHIkpAyn84p6...ew=VIndexFramesetJsp

Use the Bosch search :

Click on ENGINE Code

Type : 4D55

it now shows the cars / engine related

and go on for injector , nozzle, etc

Seems like that engine is the Mighty-Max if I remember. That's a box truck engine I believe. You might search that route.

You're right, both L4 TD, not sure if the Mighty Max has the same injectors. The Ford Ranger TD also used that engine.

I can't get a response from the German Bosch link above just a blank page which may just be server incompatibility. What I'd need is the vehicles that use the same injector nozzle above. I'm not finding that detailed search from the American Bosch site but I'll have to spend more time on it later. But that's the hope: Bosch maintained the same # even if Mitsu changed it and will yield a model that Elsbett or Monark will has.

OK you're right. Elsbett is online again since I last looked and the L300 indeed is my 4D55 engine. My one question is what does Elsbett provide for 'nozzle inserts': is this not a separate replacement nozzle? If not how do the inserts work?

Elsbett does not sell nozzle inserts but redo complete injectors...if you already have a kit.

I have a kit but not theirs. What exactly do they do to the injectors aside from shimming them?

Elsbett supply new nozzles in their IDI conversion kits which you have to fit (or get a local shop to fit).

Your nozzles should be DN15PDN100 I think.

I could track these down for you and send them to you. Chances are I should be able to find them from a few different manufacturers.
