There was a little enthusiasm about the post on the filters I found at Home Depot. They work but are fragile. I had a batch of badly contmainated fuel and no practicle way to swap it out. Wanted to burn some (had 40 gallons on board) and then clean up the tank. I could not let the contaminants got to the main fuel filter as it would not last long. Once, when I was scappin, I ran across some Webb 555 Fuel heaters and later abandoned the project. It was sitting in the garage and I decided to give it a try. I had to clean it up and install fittings but the thing works so well I thought I would pass it along here. Why? Because I picked them up for $30 each at a wrecking yard. $30 is not a lot to spend for a cleanable filter and to get the heat exchanger and water separator to boot is really cool. I sold a larger one on e-bay and did not get my money back. No market for them so you could probably find one for cheap. To large for a car probably.
All fittings are 1/2 NPT

Nice big high volume cleanable filter. Dont' use compressed air to clean.

This is the filter from Home Depot. At least I know it works and will stand up to 60 psi. (I used one on my filling station and it hit 60 psi)

Installed on the truck. Yea, I gotta find a better way t mount it. It gets to hot to touch.
