The post above is just a glance at the site with emphasis aimed at the filter head.
The site has 2 to 30 micron filters available. Easy site to work with. I have used both Cim-Tek and WIX . Good prices on WIX at www.filter1.com and www.fleetfilter.com (WIX with NAPA label) .

I use that base and the 2 micron 10"+ WIX filter on it for both diesel and wvo - they seem to last forever - there is also a 7" size for tighter spaces. Filter1 is definitely the most price competitive vendor. ------ 2001 Ford Excursion 7.3l PSD 1984 Ford F-250 6.9l IDI Conceptually identical Home Brewed WVO Conversions w/ completely parallel fuel systems. I found Fleetguard carries them. But my FS1000 10 micron filter seems to clog after 100 gallons. I have heat and the oil is centrifuged. Has anyone had this problem??

I heat settle, cf then polish with a 1 micron (nominal) - my 2 micron filters are good for about 5-6k...

Sorry this is late, but I'm a fan of Hydac filters:
http://www.hydacusa.com/litera.../filters/spin-on.pdf http://www.hydacusa.com/litera.../filters/spin-on.pdf I've been using the MF80 model for my settling/filtering system and no problems. I've had one of Dana Linscott's "Goldenglow" filter set ups, but it leaks (not sure why, but I have some ideas: too many fittings, and Goledenrod filters are only rated to 150 deg). I've got another MF80 head on order to replace my VO filter in my truck. It's rated to 250 deg, had 1/8" NPT ports for gagues which should be perfect for a glow plug or two. I'm going to have to reconfigure my thermostat though, not sure how I'm going to do that, the nice feature of the goldenglow design is the rectangular filter head fits nice with a water heater thermostat, and if wired correctly, the system will not switch to VO until hot enough, preventing premature switchover. Hope this helps someone. '93 Dodge 250 - 5.9L cummins, 275K w/40K VO miles so far. Cold-upflow settling with gravity feed through 10 and 3 micron spin-on filters (which have not needed changing for 500+ gal and counting. Hooray for cold-upflow settling! Thanks john galt! ) |
