hello all,

this conversion has beeen a great big pain in the butt. purchased car, invested 2k on repairs then IP starts leaking like crazy. got it repaired and installed/timed. reconfigured my layoout in the engine bay 3 times and now finally the temperature is making sense.

the setup is hot pickup in the middle of a a 5/8 alum coil. veggie tank is a hdpe bucket that has gotten as hot as the coolant 170F. after the hotpickup i have a 2" fuel filter, hoh to engine bay , fuel valve, fphe, filter, IP, fatjohn injection heaters. the temp before the IP is not 150F-165F. which is GREAT, Perfect, FIIIINNNNAAAAALLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYY. SO PAINFULL, BLOOD ALL OVER MY HANDS, WIFE SCREAMING IN MY EAR, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

now to the next move,

i had the plastick hdpe bucket as a tank but i want to replace it with a spray tank but i feel it will be a pain in the neck to add the coil and hot pickup so i will focus on only the hot pickup; copper coil wrap on furnace filter (10 micron) and 16 fphe.

since its a hoh insulated the hot coolant will heat the filter the enter the fphe (insulated) and finally into the hot pickup.

advantages:

* very fast setup/configuration
* 1 hole to drill in tank for heating/retrieving oil
* not wasting time heating the entire oil batch in the 16gallon spray tank. the fphe will be doing all the heating of wvo that will be used in a very compact area

disadvantages:

· hopefully you can provide those bec/ i am biased
