hey all
I've been comparing diesel to biodiesel as a purge fuel for many months now, and it seems that it takes about twice as long purging on bio-D to get the same 'quality' of startup in the AM as it does on petro-D
have other people had simlilar expereinces?
I feel that VO and bio-D are too 'similar' for the bio-D to effectively 'wash away' the VO
petro-D feels like a different substance, it 'cuts' the VO more effectively
is anyone adding anything to their bio-D to make it purge 'sharper'?
I like running on all veggie, but I don't like the increased purge times
suggestions?
thanks

acetone?
anyone know what percentage is safe to add?
you can get a conatiner of 100% acetone (@ 12 oz) at CVS or Wladgreens - it is sold as nail polish remover
can I add 12 oz acetone to 20 gal B100?
or more?
I have added small amounts of acetone in the past but couldn't really tell the difference
don't remember if I added it to the VO or the BD...

how about ethanol? or E85?
again, what percentage is safe there?
thx

I think one other benfit of a dzl purge is that your seals sit in a bath of sulphur fuel, which is good if the vehicle started life on a sulphur fuel. The seals will remain swelled.
