The clear water pumps do not self-prime and often cannot generate enough pressure for the filters, depending on what you are using. A gear pump is a better bet.
This is all based on the assumption that the oil is already somewhat filtered and very dry. If you're talking about pumping from a collection dumpster or even your own unfiltered home barrel, you'd be a fool to go straight to the vehicle tank without making sure there's no water in the oil. What gear pump would anyone recommend? the oil will be filtered and I will come up with a way to get rid of the water. Thanks.

Remember that water separating filters DO NOT work on WVO for getting rid of water of any kind. If they get wet (with water) when filtering WVO, they collapse and pass unfiltered oil.
