...and patience! I have searched the forums and have read everything I can find on this...

I have a 2000 Ford F-350 with the 7.3 Powerstroke. I live in Idaho (Boise area) so am faced with a few cold (0-10 degree) days a year. I have made my own BD in the past, but am looking to convert to a 2 tank SVO system (I can't keep up with making the BD).

That being said, I am looking for a prebuilt kit and don't want to build or install it myself. I am not cheap and want the best, so here are my requirements and maybe a few folks can point me in the right direction....

1: 100-140 Gal tank (I drive long distances and don't want to fill up on the road if I can help it).

2: Kit must be built specifically for the 7.3 PS and the builder/installer must have experience with this conversion.

3: When the install takes place I will be present and hands on the entire time. I want to convert several other vehicles and use the same kits that I am going to get so I need to have a convert and learn session on this.

5: Must be to the relative west of Indiana (that is as far as I am willing to drive).

So...any advice on who I should go with?
Offers/deals welcome!

Frybrid and Veggiestroke have just joined forces and the kit they come up with their combinced experience and R&D investments should provide a kit that fits your specs. Both are located in or near Seattle.

May I offer a suggestion? Rather than creating one monster tank, why not go with a moderate sized tank and have a second tank for filling on the road. I use the 60 gallon tank/toolbox from Northern Tools that Frybrid later adopted for their Powerstroke system. With 60 gallons and a tested 19.7mpg on WVO, I can get over 1100 miles.

In the future, I'd probably go with a smaller main tank. I've designed an in-tank heat exchanger that functions as a day tank so I don't try to heat the entire 60 gallon tank, but the larger the volume of the tank the harder it will be to maintain temperature.

If I'm going to be going longer distances, I add as many 55 gallon drums as needed. You could build an aux tank that would fit between the wheelwells- 4' wide, 18" tall, 3' long- that would hold 135 gallons. That would put you at close to 200 gallons.

The $99 Northern Tools 12v pump works great, even pumping cold oil. I've used this up in Maine but it was only 25 degrees.

Excellent suggestion. I am looking into the tanks now. I often drive 1800 miles in a single trip and am not to hot on losing the bed space, but am willing to sacrifice some of my fishing gear for better performance, etc. Do you have the specs for the aux tank or a place where I could buy one?
