There are so much information out there on the net, there is actually an information overload !
However how much of these info is authentic/verifiable and how much is hype is the question.

Some important doubts and confusion generated are as follows.

1. The approx extracted yield of oil. Percentage in weight.
2. The best or the most feasible strain of Algae that can be used.
3. The growth rate for cultivating this form of algae.
4. The external energy input needed to extract the oil.

The claims and assertions on some sites are so vast.
Some claim an 80% yield while others are more modest: 20%.

I live in the far east Asia and we have plenty of Algae floating
around due to year long bright warm sunshine.
But I don't know if these strains are useful for oil extraction.
As they say, good decisions can come about only from good information.

Thanks for any information.

Its a commercial site, but as far as I am concerned, they are the leader in bringing algae fuel to market. Not geared toward personal brewing, but a lot of their solutions they propose also spell out the same sorts of problems a personal brewer would need to address, or would want to address to maximize yield.

Hi!
I suggest you search for published papers from the web. Try sciencedirect.com but it needs subscription.
Try google scholar for free articles.
I have searched for some, including this: http://tanta.academia.edu/Marw...ophic_microalgal_oil

Good luck!

For general information,

http://allaboutalgae.com/

is a new website created by groups in the industry.

I also like to keep updated with more specific benchmarks of the industry through the

free online!
